Hey everyone! As you probably know (or maybe you don't?), I'm Sam, a student of Japanese language and culture at Tufts. I've been studying the language for 6 years, and I've immersed myself in Japanese culture in and around Boston, including being a part of the Tufts JCC* (Japanese Culture Club).
"What are you counting down to?", you may ask. In 23 days, I'll be flying to Japan, and I'll be studying in Kyoto for the next year as part of KCJS (Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies). I'll be staying with a Japanese host family, who seem really excited to have me, and hopefully I'll be able to integrate smoothly into college life at Doshisha (our host institution).
I'll be sharing my most interesting encounters/experiences with you here, and I hope you'll enjoy these stories as much as I will!
